Bob's bucket

Bob’s bucket weighs 21kg when full of water. After he pours half the water from the bucket, it weighs 12kg. What is the weight of the empty bucket?

Comments

  1. He poured half the water from the bucket and 12kg was left (bucket+water), so 21kg – 12kg= 9kg (the weight of half the water which he poured away). 2 halves = 18kg of water in total, therefore the bucket weighs 3kg which is the difference between 21kg of total weight including bucket and 18kg of water. The answer is 3kg.
