Let the three consecutive integers be:
ReplyDeletex, x + 1, x + 2
Their sum is 72, so:
x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = 72
Simplify:
3x + 3 = 72
Subtract 3:
3x = 69
Divide by 3:
x = 23
So the integers are:
23, 24, 25
Now multiply the smallest and largest:
23 × 25 = 575
Answer: 575
