Let the number of adult tickets be a
ReplyDeleteLet the number of child tickets be c
First equation:
a + c = 120
Second equation:
8a + 5c = 840
From the first equation:
c = 120 - a
Substitute into the second equation:
8a + 5(120 - a) = 840
8a + 600 - 5a = 840
3a + 600 = 840
3a = 240
a = 80
Now find c:
c = 120 - 80 = 40
Answer:
80 adult tickets
40 child tickets
