When L is divided by S, the quotient is 4 and the remainder is 5, so:
L = 4S + 5 (and S > 5)
Substitute into the sum:
(4S + 5) + S = 50
5S + 5 = 50
5S = 45
S = 9
Then:
L = 4(9) + 5 = 36 + 5 = 41
The two numbers are 41 and 9.
