Word Problem - Time and Speed

A train leaves London at 10:15 AM and travels to Bristol at an average speed of 60 miles per hour. The total distance is 150 miles.

At what time does the train arrive in Bristol?

Comments

  1. Use the formula:
    Time = Distance ÷ Speed
    Time = 150 ÷ 60 = 2.5 hours

    Convert 2.5 hours to hours and minutes:
    0.5 hours = 30 minutes
    So, 2.5 hours = 2 hours 30 minutes

    Add this time to the departure time (10:15 AM):
    10:15 AM + 2 hours 30 minutes = 12:45 PM
