    Let's break it down step by step:

    Alex wakes up at 6:35 AM.
    Sam wakes up 45 minutes after Alex.
    6:35 AM + 45 minutes = 7:20 AM.
    Emma wakes up 20 minutes before Sam.
    7:20 AM - 20 minutes = 7:00 AM.
    So, Emma wakes up at 7:00 AM.
