Area of Unusual Shapes

A garden is in the shape of an "L" made up of two rectangles. The longer rectangle measures 10 meters by 4 meters, and the shorter rectangle measures 6 meters by 3 meters. Calculate the total area of the garden.

Comments

  1. Calculate the area of the longer rectangle:

    10 × 4 = 40 square meters

Calculate the area of the shorter rectangle:

    6 × 3 = 18 square meters

Add the areas of both rectangles to find the total area of the garden:

    40 + 18 = 58 square meters

Total Area of the Garden: 58 square meters
