The Secret Code

A secret code uses numbers where each digit corresponds to a letter: 1=A, 2=B, 3=C, and so on up to 26=Z. A particular code is a sequence of four numbers: 14, 15, ?, 20. The missing number corresponds to a letter that completes the pattern. What is the missing number and what letter does it represent?

Comments

  1. The code uses numbers for letters: 1=A, 2=B, 3=C, ... 26=Z.

    The given sequence is 14 (N), 15 (O), ?, 20 (T).

Observing the sequence, it seems to follow alphabetical order.

The missing letter between O and T is S.

S corresponds to 19 in the code.

So, the missing number is 19.

  2. I think the missing number in the sequence is 17, not 19.

    Sequence: 14, 15, 17, 20. You add +1, +2, +3 to the preceding number. And number 17 would be letter "Q".
