The Mysterious Numbers

Find three consecutive odd numbers such that the sum of the smallest and the largest is 56. What are these numbers?

Comments

  1. Let's call the three consecutive odd numbers x, x+2, and x+4 (since odd numbers are 2 units apart).

    According to the problem, x + (x+4) = 56.

    Simplifying this, we get 2x + 4 = 56.

Solving for x, subtract 4 from both sides to get 2x = 52
