Find three consecutive odd numbers such that the sum of the smallest and the largest is 56. What are these numbers?

    Let's call the three consecutive odd numbers x, x+2, and x+4 (since odd numbers are 2 units apart).

    According to the problem, x + (x+4) = 56.

    Simplifying this, we get 2x + 4 = 56.

    Solving for x, subtract 4 from both sides to get 2x = 52
