How high up is the ladder

A ladder 10 meters long is placed against a wall with its foot 6 meters from the base of the wall. How high does the ladder reach up the wall?

Comments

  1. We can use the Pythagorus Theorem for this and we get:
    10^2 = 6^2+x^2
    100=x^2+36
    x^2=64
    x=8
