 When asked how many chickens and cows he had on his farm Mr Brown refused to answer directly, but he did say that the total number of heads 30 was and the total number of legs was 100. How many of each was there?

    We can make 2 equations from this
    chicken = x
    cow = y

    2x + 4y = 100
    x + y = 30

    you will get from this 20 cows and 10 chickens
