At a railway station

 At a railway station there are two platforms. At one platform, trains leave every 24 minutes and at the other every 30 minutes. If trains leave both platforms at 9 a.m., what time is it when trains next leave both platforms at the same time?

  1. For this question, you need to find the lcm of 24 and 30. To do this we can use prime factorization.

    24 = 2³ ⨉ 3
    30 = 2 ⨉ 3 ⨉ 5

    Now we take each power and find the highest power out of the other powers.
    This would give 2³ ⨉ 3 ⨉ 5 which is 120. 120 is our answer
