The number of insects in a colony doubles each week. 

If there were 100 insects in the colony at the start of the first week:

How many would there be after 6 weeks?

After how many weeks would there first be more than 100,000?

    You just need to carry on following the pattern:

    100 200 400 800 1600 3200 6400 12800

    This will show you that on the 6th week, there would be 3200 ants.

    You can also see that on the 8th week, would there be more than 100,000
