Angles in isosceles triangle

One angle of an isosceles triangle is 80°.

What are the other angles?

There are two possible solutions to this question.

Answer 1:

______°    ______°

Answer 2:

______°    ______°

Comments

  1. 1) If you use the 80° as the angle that is not equivalent to the other two then you would get the sum of the other two as 100°. You would have to divide this by 2 to get the two equal angles which would give you 80°, 50° and 50°

    2) If you use the 80° as the angle that is equivalent to one and not equivalent to the other you would get 80°, 80° and 180 - (80 + 80) = 20°. This gives us our answer 80°, 80° and 20°.
