James cycles 4000m at 10 metres per second. Tom takes 100 seconds more to cycle the same distance. At what speed does Tom cycle?

To find out the time is took for James to cycle the 4000m, we would do 4000/10 giving us 400 seconds. Tom takes 100 seconds more than James so he takes 500 seconds. To find the speed, we need to do 4000/500 which would give us 8 metres per second.
