40 Coloured Counters

There are 40 coloured counters in a box. Half of them are red, one-fifth are yellow and the rest are green. How many are green?

Comments

  1. First, we need to find out how many are red. If the number of red is half of them, then 20 are red and if 1 fifth of them are yellow, then 8 are yellow. Now if we add 8 and 20 we get 28 and if we subtract that from 40 we get 12
