In What Order?

 Four children, Bob, John, Lenny and Andrew had a race. Bob did not come first, John was beaten by Andrew, Lenny finished after Bob, Bob beat John and John did not come last. In what order did they finish?

  1. First, we know that Bob was not first so we can rule out all of those possibilities. Let us now assume that Bob was second. If Andrew beat John, Bob beat John and John didn't come last, Lenny is the only possible person who is last and Andrew has to be first (Knowing that Bob wasn't). This then means that John was third and we have our order:
