Mystery of the missing apples

Emma has a fruit basket with 120 apples. She sells ⅓ of them in the morning and then gives ¼ of the remaining apples to her neighbour. Later, she accidentally drops 10 apples, which can no longer be used. How many apples does Emma have left in her basket?

Comments

  1. Let's go step by step to find out how many apples Emma has left.

    Total apples: 120

    Apples sold in the morning:

    She sells ⅓ of 120 → 120 ÷ 3 = 40 apples.
    Apples left: 120 - 40 = 80.
    Apples given to the neighbor:

    She gives ¼ of the remaining 80 → 80 ÷ 4 = 20 apples.
    Apples left: 80 - 20 = 60.
    Apples accidentally dropped:

    She drops 10 apples.
    Apples left: 60 - 10 = 50.
    Final Answer:
Emma has 50 apples left in her basket. 🍏🍎
