The Mysterious Bakers

A bakery sells cupcakes in boxes of 6 and 12. One morning, the baker made 78 cupcakes. He sold all of them, with some in boxes of 6 and the rest in boxes of 12. If the baker used exactly 8 boxes, how many boxes of each type did he use?

Orchard Challenge

In an orchard, there are 120 apple trees and 80 pear trees. The gardener decides to plant 60 more trees, keeping the same ratio of apple trees to pear trees. How many of the new trees will be apple trees, and how many will be pear trees?

Tricky Train Timing

A train travels from Station A to Station B, covering a distance of 180 miles. If the train travels at a speed of 45 miles per hour, how long will it take to reach Station B? After reaching Station B, it immediately returns to Station A, but this time at a reduced speed of 30 miles per hour. A train leaves Station A at 9:00 AM, traveling towards Station B at a speed of 60 kilometers per hour. Another train leaves Station B at the same time, heading towards Station A at a speed of 80 kilometres per hour. The distance between Station A and Station B is 420 kilometres. At what time will the two trains meet?
